McLaren Newport Beach hosts's Private Test-Drive Event

McLaren Newport Beach understands that no amount of videos or pictures will ever be able to describe  the rush one gets from experiencing the ride in a McLaren 12C.  Even in person, it is as if the 12C creates a new chapter in the minds of first-time onlookers who have only seen the car on the web or in magazines.  It's one thing to look at the vehicle online or in magazines, but it's an entirely different experience to feel the fine leather, feel the exhaust pulses while idling, to have your hair raise as the start-button is pushed.
To help illustrate the capabilities of the McLaren 12C Coupe and 12C Spider, McLaren Newport Beach hosted a Private Invite-Only Test-Drive event for some prospective clients in the Rolling Hills community.  Utilizing it's strong foundation in Formula 1, McLaren has set out to recapture the automotive world by storm.  And by storm, we mean that the storm is gaining strength day by day as we turned curiosity into reality.

While most of the general public is not tuned in with Formula 1, the general public knows when something special is sharing the road with them.  As the McLaren Newport Beach team set out early this past Sunday morning to the Test Drive event in 3 McLaren 12C's, phones and cameras sprung out of every car window that was close enough to witness the trio of 12C's.
With some prospects owning previous exotics such as Ferrari's and Lamborghini's, most thought they knew what to expect.  Keyword: THOUGHT.  The 12C's Double-Clutch 7-speed Seamless-Shift Gearbox and hydraulic-based suspension undoubtedly surprised all who were able to experience a 12C.   The tell-tale sign was a wide smile with the words "Wow", "Amazing", and "Unreal" flowing out of the mouths as they exited the 12C.
Once the appointments were completed, words to describe the experience were not found and bodily re-enactments were definitely not filtered.  As a few gentlemen described: "You're expecting the car to squat on the launch, or for you to come up on every shift, but it doesn't happen.  It feels very much like a roller coaster as I was pinned to the seat like I've never been before.  And all this from a Rear-Wheel-Drive setup, simply amazing!"
